Im not really sure what the issue is here. Anyone could get proficiency with thieves tools and/or sleight of hands in table top 5e. Its the expertise reliant talent and stacking dex that made rogues really consistently great at it. Im not sure how that changes in BG3. And rogues were *never required for dungeon delving.I've been using him as a ranged attack thief and he's been doing reasonably well, but it's errrr.. recently come to my attention that he can do much better. I've had this issue as well, it only seems to happen when the thieves tools are stacked. If I have them in stacks of 1 it only removes 1, but if they are in a big stack it removes 2 per fail.
